Police in both Pennsylvania and Idaho are working together to uncover the motive behind the deaths of four University of Idaho students, and where the weapon is. NBC10’s Deanna Durante has the latest on the suspect Bryan Kohberger, who agreed Tuesday to be extradited from Pennsylvania to face charges in Idaho. NBC10 also obtained body camera footage of a State Trooper pulling Kohberger over in Indiana more than two weeks before his arrest. Kohberger had also been stopped by a Sheriff's Deputy minutes before that incident. Both the deputy and trooper let him go with a warning for following a vehicle too closely.
A suspect in the murders of four University of Idaho students more than six weeks ago has been arrested in Pennsylvania. Arrest paperwork filed by Pennsylvania State Police in Monroe County Court says 28-year-old Bryan Kohberger was being held for extradition in a criminal homicide investigation based on an active arrest warrant for first-degree murder issued by the Moscow Police Department and Latah County Prosecutor’s Office. The four students were all friends and members of the University of Idaho's Greek system. They were stabbed to death at a rental home near campus sometime in the early morning hours of Nov. 13. Kohberger is listed on Washington State University's (WSU) Criminal Justice PhD program page. KREM 2 has reached out to WSU for comment but have not yet heard back. READ MORE: 🤍

New details about the suspect accused of killing four University of Idaho students are emerging.
Most University of Idaho students resumed classes Wednesday, following winter break and returning for the first time since an arrest in the murders of Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves. "I feel pretty good, we've had a lot of extra campus security and I think we all feel a lot safer knowing that person is now at least in custody and everything like that," student Kobi Dooley said. "There's a lot of good services, the counseling center, there's a lot of support for us here, and I think the college did a good job coming together." The University of Idaho said campus security and resources ,such as counseling and classes in self-defense, would continue. In a letter, University of Idaho President Scott Green thanked Moscow police, the Idaho State Police and law enforcement partners for their hard work and security assistance. Green recognized Idaho Governor Brad Little for the state's financial assistance, and thanked the nation for its outpouring of support. "While we cannot bring back Maddie, Kaylee, Xana and Ethan, we can thoughtfully and purposefully carry their legacy forward in the work we do," Green wrote. "The next few months will be tough on their friends and families as the legal system begins the process of publicly prosecuting these crimes to bring justice. Let’s keep them in our thoughts and prayers and continue to stand #vandalstrong." The next legal proceeding in the case is a status conference set for Jan. 12 at 8 a.m. In the meantime, students are focused on healing together, and standing strong as a campus community. "I haven't been here for probably two months, I left for Thanksgiving break, didn't come back, and then winter break, and now coming back," student Yvonne Vinceri said. "I think the University of Idaho has done a really good job of supporting their students and I think, being such a small area I think everybody leans on each other and they do a great job of it." A history professor at the University of Idaho is suing a cyber-sleuth for defamation after the would-be detective accused her of involvement in the campus slayings last month. TikTok personality Ashley Guillard accused [the professor], an associate professor and chair of the history department, of perpetrating the murders of four students at the university in Moscow, Idaho. The lawsuit points to numerous videos posted to the platform that attempted to tie the teacher to the killings. "The statements made about [the professor] are false, plain and simple," Scofield’s attorney Wendy J.Olson told Fox News Digital in a statement. "What’s even worse is that these untrue statements create safety issues for the Professor and her family." Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin were stabbed to death inside their rental home between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Nov. 13. Authorities in Pennsylvania arrested a suspect in the killings of four University of Idaho students who were found stabbed to death in their beds more than a month ago, a law enforcement official said Friday. The killings initially mystified law enforcement and shook the small town of Moscow, Idaho, a farming community of about 25,000 people that had not had a murder for five years. Fears of a repeat attack prompted nearly half of the University of Idaho's over 11,000 students to leave the city and switch to online classes. Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28, was arrested early Friday morning by the Pennsylvania State Police at a home in Chestnuthill Township, authorities said. He is being held for extradition to Idaho on a warrant for first degree murder, according to arrest paperwork filed in Monroe County Court. An extradition hearing is scheduled for Tuesday. Moscow police and university officials are expected to hold a press conference Friday at 1 p.m. to provide an update on the homicides. KING 5 will carry the news conference live on KING 5, KING 5+ and king5.com. A Ph.D. student by the same name is listed in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Washington State University, which is a short drive across the state line from the University of Idaho. Messages seeking more information were left for officials at WSU. DeSales University in Pennsylvania confirmed that a student by that name received a bachelor’s degree in 2020 and completed graduate studies in June 2022. READ THE FULL STORY: 🤍
